Jim Brooks
This very experienced mediator is a lawyer who grew up on a dairy farm and still lives on a farm property. Jim is a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Mediation, a Nationally Accredited Mediator with more than 25 years’ experience, and a legal practitioner with 25 years’ experience in working in rural and remote areas. Jim completed articles in a country town and has worked as a lawyer in Queensland since 1989. He is an experienced farm debt mediator of matters under the Queensland Farm Finance Strategy and was also engaged by Legal Aid Queensland’s Farm and Rural Legal Service project to provide legal services to primary producers. Jim’s strong background in commercial dispute resolution and agreement-making supports effective farm business debt mediation. As an experienced mediator Jim is well placed to assist the parties to prepare for mediation. A characteristic of Jim’s approach to farm business debt mediation is effective preparation with all parties so there are no surprises and parties are properly prepared for face to face events. Jim is in a position to undertake mediations throughout Queensland. Costs indicated below are usually inclusive of travel, accommodation and provision of a suitable venue.
